PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE
This course can be taken right after the PADI Open Water Course. The course is designed to advance your diving and improve your skills. The PADI Advanced Open Water course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out other specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.
During your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, you will:
Complete five Adventure Dives. Two of these dives are required for all participants, and these dives are the following:
Deep Adventure Dive - On the Deep Adventure Dive, you will complete a dive beyond the 18/60' limit of your Open Water Course, generally to a maximum depth of 30m/100' or 21m/70" for the Junior Advanced Open Water Course.
Underwater Navigation - You will complete the Underwater Navigation Dive from shore. During this dive, you will improve your underwater navigation skills using your compass and natural landmarks.
You will then get to choose three more adventure dives. You have many options for these dives, such as Night Diving, Wreck Diving, Search and Recovery, Drift Diving, or even Enriched Air Nitrox.
As you read the chapters specific to the Adventure Dives you choose, you will also learn about:
Practical aspects of deep diving
Physiological effects of deeper scuba diving.
More ways to use your underwater compass
How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks, and time
How to better use your Dive computer
And much, much more, depending on the Adventure Dives you choose
The following is included with your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course:
