Terms and Conditions

Thank you for considering Cozumel Dive Academy for your diving experience. Please review the following policies carefully before booking your dives. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us. We're here to assist you every step of the way.

Bookings

  • All diving and PADI Scuba course bookings must be made by email to our Reservation Department at info@cozumeldiveacademy.com or through our online booking platform.
  • Direct bookings in our store will be accepted upon confirmation of space.
  • A booking deposit will be required when booking online through our booking platform.

Check-ins

  • All guests are required to check in at our shop 30 minutes before the start time on the first day of their booked dives or training.
  • Our shop is located at Local #1, Exterior Palmar Condominios, Carretera Costera Sur, KM. 3.8  Check our location on Google Maps
  • After your first day of diving, we will meet at our departure point at Marina Fonatur unless other arrangements have been made. Check our departure point on Google Maps

Pick-ups

  • If you are staying at an accommodation south of Marina Fonatur and would like a pick-up for your diving days, we kindly ask you to check in at our shop either the day in advance or the first day of your dive schedule.

The following exception applies for a check-in:

  • Guests with their own gear who have paid their invoice in full via our online payment link and filled out our digital Boat Travel and Scuba Diving Liability Release are eligible to be picked up at their oceanfront locations south of our shop without a physical check-in at our shop. Prior arrangement with the shop)
  • We only pick up at the ocean from locations south of Marina Fonatur on the way to the reefs. Certain pickup locations charge a $5 USD per person per day fee, which is generally payable directly to your hotel.
  • Picking up at these locations is dependent on weather conditions. Due to wind and sea conditions, these piers can often be unsafe and cannot be used.

Equipment

  • Dive Computers are required to dive with Cozumel Dive Academy. If you do not own one, we will provide one.
  • All our regulators are cleaned and sanitized daily. You are welcome to bring your own mouthpiece, and we will be happy to install it and return it to you at the end of your diving. New mouthpieces are also available in our store for $10 USD.
  • All rental equipment must be inspected during the check-in process
  • You are responsible for the equipment you rent. You will be charged replacement cost for any lost equipment
  • If you lose lead weight during a dive, you will be charged a replacement cost of $5.00 per pound. If you lose an integrated pocket from your BCD, you will be charged an additional $20.00 replacement cost.
  • Cruise ship passengers will be sent a payment request for their balance to complete the booking.

Pricing and payment

  • All prices are in US dollars.
  • The balance of payment is due upon check-in at our shop.
  • Cruise ship passengers will receive a payment link to complete the booking process.
  • We accept payments in Cash US dollars & Pesos, Credit Cards, and Paypal (5% card processing fee)
  • A 5% transaction fee will be added to payments done with Paypal and Credit Cards

Scuba Diving Policy

  • All certified divers must show proof of their SCUBA diving certification from a recognized certifying agency.
  • As a Divers Alert Network business member, Cozumel Dive Academy is committed to safety and injury prevention for scuba diving. Therefore, we strongly recommend all participants acquire a Divers Alert Network (DAN) membership. This membership provides emergency medical assistance and benefits that help make them safer and more informed divers and travelers. Click Here to Join DAN.
  • All divers must fill out the digital Boat Travel and Scuba Diving Liability Release before arrival.
  • While diving within the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, divers must adhere to park rules, which your Divemaster will review. Divers who intentionally disregard Marine Park rules and/or Cozumel Dive Academy'standards of Safe Diving Practices can have their diving privileges revoked.

Cancellation Policy

  • Full refund applies to cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to the first scheduled dive
  • The deposit on any PADI Scuba courses will not be refunded once the provided eLearning Code has been redeemed. A full refund will be provided if the eLearning Code has not been redeemed.
  • No refund applies to cancellations made less than48 hours prior to the first scheduled dive
  • No refund applies to same-day cancellations
  • No refund applies to cruise ship passengers cancellations made less than 48 hours due to cruise rescheduling, delays, or time zone changes.
  • All refunds due will be made within 48 hours of cancellation.

Cancellation by Cozumel Dive Academy due to weather

  • A full refund will be given. Dives may be canceled only if the Harbor Master closes the port to watercraft due to bad weather.

Important Information for Cruise Ship Divers

  • 7:30 AM check-in, 8 AM departure. Our store opens for divers at 7:00 am
  • Please ensure your docking time is in local time.
  • Gear rental is available on the “add-ons” "during the booking process.
  • Park fees and taxes are included. There are no hidden costs.
  • The trip returns around 12:30 pm. Please note we require a 24-hour notice to cancel. Diving is NON-REFUNABLE and must be paid in full prior to arrival. A payment link will be sent for the total trip amount at the time of booking.
  • We must meet at our shop at least 30 minutes before departure.
  • We do not have a grace time for departures. We leave at 8 AM.
  • We do not offer refunds for cruise ship passengers within 24 hours of their check-in time, regardless of ship delays or mechanical issues. Refunds are only offered if the Cozumel harbormaster closes aquatic activity.
  • Cozumel Dive Academy does NOT Pick up at Cruise Terminals
  • We effectively cater to cruise ship passengers as we are conveniently located at Local #1, Exterior Palmar Condominios, Carretera Costera Sur, KM. 3.8. Check our location on Google MapsWe are just a couple of minutes away by taxi from the International Cruise Terminal and Puerta Maya Terminal and about 15 minutes away from Punta Langosta.
